About Us

The Department of Sense Organs was established on 1 July 2010 after the merger of three Sapienza departments: the Department of Ophthalmological Sciences,  the Department of Neurology and Otorhinolaryngology, and the “G. Ferreri”  Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Audiology, and Phoniatrics.

Today the Department is home to around 50 scholars, including professors and researchers from different research areas including ophthalmology, otorhinolaryngology, audiology, and phoniatrics. The Department and administrative offices are located in the Otorhinolaryngology Clinic building and the Oculist Clinic building at Policlinico Umberto I University Hospital.

The departmental structure includes libraries and classrooms which are available for teachers, students, residents, doctoral students, and research fellows.
